A hybrid surrogacy program is a program that combines strengths from multiple countries—such as Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia— in order to achieve a flexible, efficient, and cost-effective journey that fits your needs.
For example: If you are looking for an open donation model but want your surrogacy journey to take place in Colombia (where only anonymous donation is allowed), you can choose a hybrid program. In this case, embryos can be created in Argentina (where open donation is legal) and then transferred to a surrogate in Colombia or another destination of your choice.

However, upon returning to your home country, you will need to complete an additional legal process with a local lawyer in order to obtain the necessary documentation.
How Does the Canada/United States Hybrid Program Work?
In this hybrid program, your embryos are created in Canada, often with the help of a Canadian egg donor. A U.S.-based surrogate then travels to Canada for the embryo transfer. After the procedure, she returns to the United States, where she will carry the pregnancy and give birth.
This model combines the high-quality care of Canadian fertility clinics with the legal clarity and surrogacy experience available in the United States. It can also help reduce clinic costs and may allow you to match with a surrogate more quickly.
How Does the Canada/Argentina Hybrid Program Work?
In this program, your embryos are typically created in Canada, often with the help of a Canadian egg donor if needed. Once ready, the embryos are safely shipped to a trusted clinic in Argentina, where your surrogate will undergo the embryo transfer.
This hybrid approach can speed up the matching process, as surrogates are often more readily available in Argentina.
How Does the Canada/Mexico Hybrid Program Work?
In this program, you’ll create your embryos in Canada — or use embryos you already have stored there. A Mexican surrogate will then travel to Canada for the embryo transfer. After the procedure, she’ll return to Mexico for the remainder of the pregnancy and delivery.
